Remote Control For Nikon D7000

Hi,
I recently purchased a Nikon remote control for my D7000. I have tried and tried to get it to work and checked my D7000 manual for help. I tried a different MFG product as well and couldn't get that to work either. I checked in my menu and found an area that says remote control and I tried the settings for a 2 second delay as well as the instant setting. Still no luck. Has anyone ever had this issue or know what I may be missing? Thanks for your help.

Are you putting the shutter release mode in "Remote" mode? Page 7 of the owner's manual.

Thanks Everyone! I missed the part on page 7 where I had to rotate the Release Mode Dial to the remote control symbol. As soon as I did that everything works Great! Sorry to have bothered everyone with this, I just missed that part while reading! Thanks Again!
