This is Caleb; he's a drummer in a metal band and recently moved into a Los Angeles artist collective that I live in. Sometimes I look at people and I can just see a picture. Caleb has features that look really painterly to me and remind me of old renaissance portraits, so I wanted to photograph him in a way that was very inspired by that aesthetic.View attachment 181933

Shot using a Canon 5D with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens attached set to f/10, 1/200th sec, ISO 100. Lit with a single Neewer C-300 flash and softbox.

Being an old art student back in the day, this looks like DaVinci in photo....

You again nailed it!!!

The shadows make for the classic DaVinci muscle drawings.

THATS the kind of work that gets attention and stuff like that is what exhibits are made of!
