Nice shot - you have to love fortuitous timing like this! I wonder how it would look if you moved the moon in closer and went with a tighter crop?

Thank you both.

I have several with the moon in different places but I thought this one was the most well balanced. Its already a little bit of a crop down to 8x10 format.

wow you were werent you thats a great shot:)

I love the shot, so please don't take this the wrong way...

My eyes were drawn to the moon before the bird, which is way out of focus. Can't read the exif so I'm not sure what the aperture was set at. Would really look better if the moon was better focused. Have you thought about re-shooting the moon and imposing it on this shot? :)

Wonderful shot ! Simple, but awesome.

For photo editting, I would prefer the background to be a little darker and deeper..

Just my thought though :D

All exif is viewable through flickr. ;) 1/400 @ f10 ISO 200 Nikon 18-200 (yuk) on handheld D300s.

And though I appreciate the suggestion I just dont enjoy make images like that. Im not necessarily saying its cheating because I remove distracting elements from pics on occasion. And it would indeed make for a more dynamic image. But its just not my thing. I dont replace skys or backgrounds, etc. What you see, is what I saw. If I have to spend more than 2 minutes PP my general wildlife shots then I didnt get it right on capture.
