You should use a tripod and crop out the white areas that are a byproduct of the auto align feature.
 
I did use a tripod but not a good one also did not have a shutter release cord. Still very new. What white areas are you talking about from the auto align?

Look at the bottom and right sides of the frame.

#3 is best. #1-2 look overcooked to me.
 
Overcooked? Still new trying to learn the lingo.
 
OK, I understand less is more when it comes to the effects on the photos. What about the composition of the photos is there enough or to much in the frame? What should I be looking for to keep attention to the photo?
 
Although it's not my preference, there are people who do overcooked and do it very well. I think it's harder to do such images well, and beginners ought to go for a more natural look until they get comfortable with the process.

I like the first image, even if if is a bit overdone.
