hmm anyone? Maybe its a tad too dark a conversion...

A bit too dark, but I think it gives it an industrial look opposed to a nature photo. I think lightening it a bit would look great, if you want it to look like a nature shot maybe even more. Sort of looks like a Coal load zone after the rain in the darkness you have it.

Thanks for the comment I was sorta finding that lightening it was giving it more of the greyscale appearance hence why i sorta left it at that - mind you it was sunset when i took it so quite darkish - its a little sorta bit of water on the beach sand through the rocks.

It's interesting about looking like an industrial sorta pic (coal load zone) - friend said it looked like an aerial landscape shot - its interesting what people are seeing it as

Whats so great about photography, people will see in it what we always don't. It is hard to find a good balance in B&W but with what you posted and what others see maybe just leave it like it is. It is playing with what people see and that is always a good thing.
