Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I wasn't sure if I should post this in the General Gallery or Landscape but in the end I decided to make a thread here. Anyway, this is a restored roman fortress... or whatever is left of it. I was on a family trip last week which was the perfect opportunity for me to test my new camera in landscape-ish environment. I have a bunch of other photos but these are my favorite.

I think I've overdone it with the vibrance/saturation as well as smart sharpen settings in Photoshop but this was the best I could come up with, as I am still relatively new to this whole deal.

And as always, feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The processing looks a bit oversaturated and high contrast for my tastes.

Yes you are correct it's a bit over done with saturation vibrancy. Just keep shooting though because we were all new to photography at one point. It's really good you are showing your work though because critique helps out a lot if it is constructive. I have learned a lot here and other critique sites. I have been shooting exactly about a year now and I feel I am doing OK.
If you have the time to set up a tripod a long exposure on #1 might have brought more movement in the clouds and blurred out the people but notice the horizon is almost centered in the photograph. Try having your horizon in the top or bottom 2/3. Just more appealing to the eye.

See how the path starts in the corner and kind of leads you to the mountain and how the horizon is at the top now? I know I cut out the cool cloud and the building. I still have troubling cutting things out that by themselves look really cool but as a whole composition distract. Hope I'm not coming off as a know it all cause I'm far from knowing a little but I hope this helps.

Thank you very much! Yes, your edit is more appealing to look at. I'll keep in mind the placement of the horizon next time I take landescape-ish photos.

I didn't bring a tripod on the trip to the fortress though. And I'll try not to overdo the saturation and vibrance in my future projects xD I might as well have thrown an oil painting filter over it.
