The first and second images simply ROCK. Beautiful tonalities, and the gradients are really conducive to the mood of the images. The first one in particular has a unique, linear, and balanced composition that just simply pulls me in immediately.

I would go so far as to say that, in my opinion, the first image could be an award winner in its genre. Really, really, good.
