That's not a banner. It's an 16th century ruin, called Roman statue. The path leads up to it.

Either way, it doesnt really fit into the photo. It detracts from the simplistic beauty of the trees.

agreed. i have found these types of shots are extremely hard to nail. while the color on the trees is phenomenal, where those trees lead is nothing visually appealing, and really takes away from the photo.

I get where you are coming from, but you are missing the point. It was either TAKING the photo (you can't chzange the background, except in post) or not taking it. I will try to change it in post. See what I can come up with.
