Bill this was at Daniel Webster. This perch can get some nice activity if wait long enough. Usually small birds stopping for a drink. I lucked out last year with this guy looking for little birds.

Thanks Brian. Ya they don't sit long. The Tree Swallows and the Barn Swallows were after each other yesterday. This guys was hitting the water drinking or eating then landed for a quick rest.

Last night must have been a great night for swallows, ours here were going NUTS over the field and river, there also seems to be significantly more this year than last.

Bill said it well. Superb lighting and background !! The colours and details with that lighting shine through in this one. A beautiful profile and a great perch. I have a family of them out on a farm that are getting fairly use to me now (taken a long time) and the goal is with them skimming the top of the water scooping up bugs on the top. I've been pretty close to it, but not quite the right angle for it. I got the dreaded butt shot Mike

Nice work getting one coming out of the water, that's a very tricky shot and well done.

Anyway, all the best Mike and this is a gorgeous shot.
