I'm thinking about getting the Canon Pixma MP970. One of the important things for me is that the scanner is very high quality. The Max. resolutions according to the spec sheet are.. Optical 4800 x 9600 dpi Interpolated:19,200 x 19,200 dpi 48-bit internal/24 bit external Does anyone have any comments on this. What are the specs I should look for if I want to scan in my film photo prints or negatives and have very high quality results?
The only flatbed scanner that approaches my definition of "high quality" is the Epson V700/V750. Other than that go with a dedicated film scanner and drum scan the prints.
