Scanning Photos?

How could I ignore the avvice of a fellow countryman?

i dont have a scanner because i have a digital camera ... but i always take my photos on super high quality with the highest resolution ... because i would like to print mine out for later use .. but for web, i save at 72 ... but i always keep the "original" uncompressed image.
