The only one I'd ever photographed was a female, so I hadn't realised how they got their name. It does become quite obvious in shots like your's of a male showing it's large mating parts / 'sting'.

Thanks! When I was photographing it, it was raising its wings every several seconds, revealing its signature tail. I tried to get a shot showing the tail clear of the wings, but it was tricky coordinating the timing with focusing and shooting angle. This shot will have to do for now.
