Sea Eagle

[Terrier]

The "White Bellied" or "White Breasted Sea Eagle" a large eagle often standing 90 cm's with a wingspan exceeding two meters. She is usually seen majestically soaring just (realistically) out of range but yesterday morning she was being harassed by the Ravens so took a spell up in a large gum tree just over the river, even then they wouldn't let up.

Before she had, had enough and with dignity, departed the scene.

The sun had broken through down the Huon and I decided to go for a walk down by the river and see what had changed with the recent high water. As I neared I heard the "Huon Jet boat" roar past and figured I would wait until it came back down and get a few 'action' shots. While I was waiting a beautiful adult Sea Eagle came in low overhead and swooped down into the river about 50 mtrs away. I was all set up for the jet boat but just honed in and went into full on "machine gun mode". The 700D and kit lens EF 75 - 300 did a reasonable job but if I ever win lotto I promise myself I WILL upgrade.
