Pretty cool. I like it. What I like about it, others may not, but I like how the water ISNT smooth. This water looks like it has some texture to it, and thus you can tell that it is moving.

The immediately interesting aspect of this photo to me is that I can HEAR it!
I look at it and get the sound of the moving water.

This image is alive. The swirling water (I can feel it pulling on my legs), the building up of breakers at the horizon, and the dark sentinel standing over the dark water, under a grey sky... are all pretty powerful. The use of the twig in the foreground to emphasize the water's motion, and its relative puniness (trust me, that's a word) compared to the mass of water and the rock, is brilliant. No use pretending otherwise - I really like this image.

A strong photo! Lovely use of the foreground water; it's amply BIG to really,really convey visual impact and presence. What's truly striking about the shot though is the LOW CAMERA POSITIONING!!! Well-done! It makes the waves appear so,so towering!

Thanks everyone for the comments! Really appreciate it. The light was extremely flat at this time, it was just after a storm and close to dusk. Fighting this batch of images in post has been interesting.

Thanks Derrel! I paid for the low and close camera angle with lots of ocean salt water in the tripod legs, so that was a bit of a chore afterwards to dismantle the tripod and clean it out. but hopefully worth it

I was thinking the same thing! I'd be worried for the life of my camera.
