Well wonder of wonders, just received a call from a Pentax tech, to discuss the problem I'm having. He's going to do some research into and try to duplicate the issue, to get a resolution. Advised to NOT try to update the firmware, until he calls me back, as having an update crash in the middle of an install has the potential to brick the camera.
