What's new

Semana Santa en España, Easter in Spain.

It's really difficult to give real critique when there are this many shots in a thread, but some of these shots show so much promise that I thought I'd pick out a couple favorites.

Let's start with the first one. I'm a sucker for patterns, so the repetition here speaks to me. What I would like to see is less space above the heads. Ignoring that that's what the rule of thirds would say anyways, it would include less uninteresting wall, and more interesting people. The black and white processing is good..nothing really to comment on there. Last, the very left part of the left guy is cut off a little, which is a little disappointing. However, due to the photojournalist style, little technical deficiencies in the framing can be forgiven.

Now, some overall comments: I really like the color tones you seem to get in your photos. It's subdued, and almost "vintage" in style, and for the subject matter, it works excellently. I just wish more of these had been in color. A number of these should have been framed a bit differently, especially in the vertical direction. The two main problems are that the subject should take up ver half the vertical height of the frame. There are a couple photos like this, but in others, it is a bit too high. Just keep in mind exactly where you want the subject to fall when you are shooting.

I liked this series when I first saw it a few days ago, and I still do today. Nicely done.

Thanks very much for your comments and I really appreciate them. Framing was always a challenge because I was using a fixed-length lens so didn't have the benefit of zooming in and out etc.
It's great stuff to watch!
