This thread will be used to share my photos from the trip I'm currently on to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. I've been here since last night and I have two full days remaining.

@jeffW and @JoeW thanks for the advice in the other thread!

1.) Shenandoah Valley as seen from the first overlook at the north end of the park

2.) My first hike; Little Stony Man Mountain. Really just a short walk up a hill, but I was racing the sunset on my first night in town

3.) Another from the spot #2 was taken

4.) Panorama of the sunset from little stony man

5.) A self portrait that I took on top of Old Rag Mountain today. This is my new favorite hike of all time; super rewarding with a really fun rock scramble

6.) Sunset. Shot tonight at one of the overlooks in the park. One of my first attempts at using my 70-200 as a landscape lens.

#1 and 4 show a lot of haze in the air. Was that the conditions?

How are you triggering your camera?

#5 is pretty cool, really shows the hugeness of it dwarfing us human beings (kind of humbling I think).

I like the last one, the subtle range of colors and light to dark is wonderful.

Yeah, that haze is what the conditions have been all weekend. Locals say when it's humid out that's what it looks like because you're viewing the mountains from ~25-35 miles away

I'm setting it on an interval timer and then just deleting the shots I don't need.

I love how small it makes me look, totally agree that it's humbling.

And thank you! I wasn't sure that #5 would work well but it's growing on me. I had to use a soft edge ND grad to help balance the exposure.

All good shots but do agree on the haze, No5 in the first set for me as it just shows the huge scale of the area. The second set is excellent indeed.
