I have no Idea what bird this is on my tree but it is shinny like the grackle.

Not really common around here but they are plenty of them here. And that is a beautiful shot of one, well done :thumbup:

yup, good ol' european starling, one of the most common north american songbirds with an interesting history on how they came here from Europe (click the 'life history' tab in the link, its an interesting read).

Ah yes, the Starling, these are the guys that were falling down our stovepipes looking for nesting spots this spring before we got them covered, I think the final count was 6! There is a large resident flock of them that sleep in our cedar stand.
They are quite pretty birds and quite abundant here, nice capture!
