I think the lighting and shadows really pull it together well to make one awesome photo. Sure, one side is really dark and that may bother some people, but I think it's wonderful!

Great find. I'd have probably wimped out and carried on walking before a mugger spotted me instead of standing in a dark corner like that with an expensive camera, LOL.

Looks great as-is, but I'd be tempted to crop out that blacked out section on the left, just to centralise more on the subject and see how it looks if nothing else.

This image is great. The dead black space on the left is part of the story it's telling. Do not change anything, just find an art gallery to hang it in.
