I made a garden specifically to attract bumblebees. It is a work in progress. Some flowers have really attracted the bees,
like lavender and coneflowers. Others, like salvia, were not as successful. The butterflies and moths seem to like the flowers too.
I am still trying to get a grip on using the flash. I am using a Nikon Speedlight SB-700. I am shooting handheld because it would be impossible to use a tripod. They move around too much and too fast!
The speedlight + 105mm Macro lens + Nikon D800 = very heavy and awkward.
Maybe I will try using a monopod ... hmm just thought of that.
