Looking in purchasing a used camera (a Canon 30d specifically) and was curious how many actuations is 'too much'. I know the Canon 30d has a shutter life is 100,000, since I reckon that 5,000 shutter actuations is a completely acceptable number?

Any insights are greatly appreciated.

You mean 5,000? OR perhaps 50,000 - 50K, I don't know what to do with this number 5,00, but math is not my strong suite.

I wouldn't worry about the number of actuations on a camera unless it's like a really really high number (>30k). My D80 has about 15k on it and it's still as good as new.

5k is basically brand new. If it looks nice on the outside, I'd say it's fine for purchasing.

Make sure it's cheaper than the price on B&H. (you'd be surprised)
