Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC OS HSM

I'm considering buying this as my next lens and believe it has a constant aperture of 2.8, is that correct? If so does it limit the versatility of this lens E.G. no good for lanscapes as you won't be able to get a very deep depth of field?

No, it's not a constant aperture of f/2.8 in the sense of being unchangeable; it's just that you can use it at f/2.8 whether you're at 17mm or 50mm.
On many zoom lenses, the aperture is variable--so at 17, you might be "wide open" at f/3.5 but at 50mm the widest you could go would be f/6.3. On the "constant" f/2.8 lenses, you can still use them at f/5.6, 8, whatever--but you can get that f/2.8 even zoomed all the way out.

Just noticed you can get it on 6 months 0% finance from Jessops in the Uk, so tempted. I was going to wait to clear off my credit card probably in January but Jessops is the same price as wex photographic £319
