does anyone know how to make the signatures that look like they where actually signed to add to pictures? I know how to do the normal text but im looking for more of a signature style.

Either find a font that matches what you want, or scan your signature.

If you are using photoshop, you can scan your actual signature, then go to edit and define brush. Once you name it, you can just "stamp" your actual signature anywhere you want it. It's pretty nice b/c you can adjust the size as well.

True, but if you haven't made it transparent, it will always have the white background behind it (or whatever color paper you scanned it on). That kind of limits is usage.

If you make the signature layer a "multiply layer" all the white will become see through.

If you have your signature scanned in, and its black ink on white paper, photoshop will automatically assume you wanted the black as the stamp. It will become auto transparent.

Atleast in CS and 7.0...

The easiest way to do this, unless you're really wanting your own signature on the picture, is to find an appropriate font and use a cool effect, such as Brushed Metal or Clear Embossed on the text to make it fade into the background picture.

Why would you want to use a font that looked like a signature, when you can use yor own signature.
It is a simple process after you have done it a few times...Do you have a scanner...?
If so your half way there...
Just sign a blank white sheet of paper several times, use a Black ink pen...
Pick the one you like best and scan... Save as a tif file (scan as an RGB, do not scan as a grayscale)...
Once scanned open in PhotoShop...
Bring up the Layers Palette...
Even though it is scanned as RGB, there is no color (but there are color channels), since you are on white paper with Black ink...
Now, click on the Channels Tab, click any channel (Red, Green, or Blue), and drag one down to the new channel icon... The one next to the trash can icon...
This will make a duplicate of that channel...
Now we want to get rid of any detail, turning your signature into a pure black and white image with no shades of gray...
Now use the following Image>Adjustments>Levels
with levels dialog box up move the input level slider to the right darkening your signature (click OK)...
Now, go to the bttom of the channels tab... the left icon looks likea small sun burst, click on the icon...
This will select the entire image... now click on "Select" it's between Layer and Filter....
Select "Inverse"... This will select your signature only...
Now, go to the Layers Palette. Double click the "Background" layer.. This will convet it to a layer that can support transparency (click OK). By default, it will be renamed Layer 0. Of course, you can name it to anything you want...
Now click on the layer mask icon... Second from left next to the one with the "f" on it...
This will extract your signature.... save as a .jpg or .tif file...
Now if you want to change the color of your signature, just double click the layer, this will bring up Layer Style dialog box...check the box "color overlay", by default the color is red, but you can change to any color... click on the words "Color Overlay", this will bring up the color overlay dialog... Now you can change colors..
Click OK and save...
That should do it... Just drag the layer to the image you want...

wait .... why would digitizing a signature would be a problem for someone who wants to add it to his digital images .. he either shoots film then and scans, or he shoots digital. in any case he can simply take a pucture of the signature and then use it in photoshop after some tweaking

(just to make that flatbed scanner obsolete)

Above is how to tweak, for those that like complete instructions...
