English is quite confusing.
Burmese is totally unintelligible to me.

I think I'd kick off my shoes before walking on their shiny white tiles.

I'm skeptical that the "humberger" would actually look like the picture.

You think English is bad. You want to try out some of the county differences here in the UK
Eg. Netty, a shorter version of Annette..... or the the outhouse/toilet down the bottom of the garden

These snaps were taken in the caves in a lovely out of the way town in Myanmar called Pindaya. The town doesn't attract many foreign tourists except day-trippers from larger towns and thus guesthouses and restaurants are in very short supply.
I've stayed there overnight twice and, once the tourist bus leaves, it is a very small, quiet town. We were invited for tea by an old man who had been a government official but was exiled to Pindaya for inappropriate speaking.
The banyan tree at the left is actually a large grove of trunks from the same root system.

Nice set. Exiled for speaking inappropriately ... that's socialism for ya. People need to keep that in check.

Interesting opinion but totally incorrect.
Myanmar was, and still mostly is an authoritarian regime, a military oligarchy with no pretentions to being a socialist state. Although it has a parliamentary government, the military has a large representation in the Parliament which is written in law. The nominal Prime Minister, now Aung San Suu Kyi, has limited powers and candidates for any elected positions are subject to the approval of the military.

Burmese and Arabic, handwritten, are just indecipherable to me.
Even changing fonts make them unreadable to a foreigner.
I would go somewhere with the address written and not be able to match the paper to the street sign.

That sounds even worse. All I know is it's sad that it's that way.
