Simple Flash Sync Option

I have a good Vivitar flash that I’d like to be able to fire off camera with my d850 once in a while. Any recommendations? I was thinking of getting a long cord but all the ones I see are short.

I had some Yongnuo triggers when I was still shooting Canon. Now I just use my pop up flash to trigger

If you just want to fire the flash remotely, you can use some inexpensive flash triggers. I use an Impact Power Slave wireless flash kit. It has good range, but is not TTL compatible, so you have to adjust the flash manually. They are small and cheap and fit in my camera bag without taking up much room. There are more expensive wireless flash triggers that work with TTL.

Then get the Yongnuo, or if you do this professionally, some more reliable/durable (never had any issues with my commander and slaves-but did not use them often).

either a long cord, or simple radio triggers -- tons of options anymore.

I use 16 channel no name triggers and receivers from eBay. They fire every time and are inexpensive enough that I keep several backups.
