Ive been to some places with good opportunities but having difficulty shaking a funk. You need motivation to get out, opportunity, and a clear mind to see the shot when it presents itself.

Ive been to some places with good opportunities but having difficulty shaking a funk. You need motivation to get out, opportunity, and a clear mind to see the shot when it presents itself.

Guess I approach it like beachcombing. The morning light hitting this surrealistically posed mannequin was too good to skip. Other times, I'll patrol around for an hour and get nothing or later find "possibles" aren't worth editing. It's a mood thing. Minimizing gear fuss keeps me focused. Probably why I adore the little Ricoh GRII and Fuji X-100T I shoot. Batteries in the pocket now instead of film when an old Nikon and a fast 50 did the trick.
Walk and let the shots find you. Study 'em. People shots are different. Most posted pix are intimates with shared chemistry. Sometimes, though, that works on the street but a shot only results from dialogue. Loathe street snipers with long zooms--nothing but voyeurs devoid of social skills. Primes aren't for everybody!
In a slump? Change up the same old-same old--time, place, subject, weather, gear... Don't fret.
