A little more DOF would have been better I agree, but it is still an interesting shot.

Does anyone know what compelled somebody to try to smash the coffee bean and drink it one day?? (hmm... I think I will smash that, pour some water through it and drink it today....) Just some philospohy that was running around at work last week...

I like the shallow DOF, but I wonder what a version focused on the middle bunch of beans would look like. My eye naturally lands on that center bunch, and then is pulled down by the focus, then back to the middle because it seems like it should be the primary subject.

shark makes a good point. I have the same tendency towards the middle cluster but never thought about it much. I do like how this version forces viewer involvement though.
