High ISO jpg from the camera (sharpening set to zero). Then I used a very high radius but low amount setting in Unsharp Mask (amount 6%, Radius 37, threshold 0). I like the look of the result. What's your opinion on the image generally and as a B&W?

Has some of that old film look, if that's what you were going for. Since it's a close crop in some ways, with the corners of the ashtray clipped, I would crop further, especially on the left (and maybe a little on top and right) to give it a consistent sort of crowded-in look, and maybe lighten the highlights a bit to increase contrast.

I agree on the cropping suggestion, maybe make it look like a cityscape. B & W is the way to go on this. Do you have other angles?

The photo has too much contrast and it lacks compositionally. The only message I get from it is that it
s a nasty ashtray.

Its not bad, I like the butts shooting out in all different directions actually, but the whole image seems super unsharp to me.
