Geez i read an article yesterday that said if one naps/snoozes during the day life expectancy drops down a % or 3. What species of bird?

I am not quite sure the exact kind of bird that is.

It may help to know that this was on the inter-coastal river near Sebastian Florida.

I think you are close, but that one does not have the "red mohawk". I found a picture online of one that did, but it did not have a name attached.

Im confident it is a Brown Pelican, the difference between the wiki page and your shot is a colour change due to breeding plumage.

Very nice image! A type of pelican for sure. I lived not far from Sebastian to the north in a small coastal community called Indian Harbour Beach, and the pelicans were a common sight.

Maybe you only lose the part when you would be snoozing?
