Snow and Frost covered trail - HDR

ok, so im new to photography. I can take pictures, kinda, but when it comes to editing im stupid. lol

Heres a shot I took on a recent hike up the mountains. its a bracketed shot, 5 images, combined into one with photomatix and than edited in CS6...

If you were to edit this photo, what would you do differently? assuming you composed the image the same way. Or, would you even shoot this in HDR?

I went in a whole different direction. Looks like yours is actually in the morning (correct me if I'm wrong). I turned into a sunset

Yeah it looked like it was in the morning. What I did was used the colors that were already there and used Lightroom to amplify them. I also used Nik color effex for some soft focus filter and a warmth filter.
