SoCal Wildflowers

The wildflowers are starting to bloom in Southern California and I was wondering if anyone had tips / advice for shooting them (or good locations). I went to Red Rock Canyon State Park yesterday and that was pretty good.

They are flowers, just sit on the ground and shoot them, if you have a macro lens play with it, if not, look at how they change in the different light, try some backlight, look past the flowers to the backgrounds. They are just flowers.
