Solar Power vs. Electric power

[Bend The Light]

On the way into work yesterday I pulled over at one of my favourite spots and took this. in some instances I quite like pylons (although I know they're not to everyone's taste)...think it's a symmetry thing.

Your thoughts?

i think it's a great shot. i dig sun pictures, the power lines are a little distracting but that also goes with your theme so i think its composed well. thats just my two cents

Pretty good for a photo of this type! Digital does not "do" the sun as a fireball very well, due to the way the bright areas just abruptly 'clip', but in this instance, the sun rendering looks quite good! The other elements, minimal as they are, are well-controlled by your choice of focal length and framing.

You should have done HDR, as the sun is too bright for my liking. Still, i like the composition, i just wish the sun wasn't as bright and intense.

I could have tried HDR, maybe, but this was 1/30 second as it was, so a -1 or -2 would be too slow to hand hold properly. I hadn't gone equipped with tripod, and I wouldn't have been able to use one from that location.

I will bear that in mind for the next time.

I really like the shot other than the power lines . Nice play on words though. If i took this i would probably photo-shop the power lines outta there.
