Some More Belizean Sunrises

I actually prefer the one titled Belize sunrise #3 (the fourth in the series), too bad the other early one seems a bit blown out. My friends in the trip thought I was crazy waking up at five am and marching with the tripod out to the beach... But getting the sun just as it comes over the horizon give you the best colors...

Thanks! I guess I haven't figured out how to not blow out direct sun yet..... if you know how, I would love to hear it!

I did a crop on the first one to get the hut out of the middle (one complaint I was receiving elsewhere)! What do you think?

I think both are just fine, I'm sure some purest will like the second one better, it's hard for me to look at a beautiful sunrise and say " you know if I just stand a little more to the right it will look better" , nice shots thank for bringing us a really nice morning.

Where in Belize was this? Think I know where my next vacation will be...

Roberts Grove, Placencia, Belize. Belize Resorts | Belize Hotels | Belize Diving | Placencia | Luxury Beach Resort - Robert's Grove Off season is cheaper June 1 - November 30 (but this is the rainy / storm season. We got a little bit of rain everyday.. usually around 4am....) Main season is December 1 to May 31 - much busier during this time.

It is actually on a little peninsula that sticks out from the mainland. The advantage to that is that there are very few bugs there... I don't think I saw / heard /felt a single mosquito at the resort (although there are a lot of them on the mainland!) Lots of things to do.. if you go, make sure you snorkel Silk Caye, get to snorkel with a bunch of Lemon Sharks, Rays and Sea turtles. It is a blast! Hey Charlie, #1 is wonderful. I love long exposure shots of surf, especially how you've captured the warm glow of sunrise coming from the water.
