I love this! I think I posted on the original thread (I intended to, anyway) because as soon as I saw it I thought of Raj. I am really impressed by his "just a P&S" photography and really can't wait to see what he does with this machine. Even though it will blow me out of the water! Ha! But I'm used to that, everyone else does it too. But it's not just his photography, he seems like such an honestly kind and wonderful person.

What really shocked me about this whole thing was when I read he was taking those photos he posted with a P&S camera. Dayum.

If it is at all possible, If Raj needs a bag, I have a Vivitar camera bag I would like to add to the donation. I can mail it on Monday ( May 12 ) just send me a PM if this can be done...... I know shipping to India can be expensive so if any more money is needed for shipping I will donate to that as well.

It is VERY similar to this.... let me know ASAP and I will send it out. Every good photographer needs a bag to carry their Camera and lenses in.

Its not about money, my friend. Its about sharing the enjoyment of a hobby with like minded people. If you enjoy photography and get the pleasure that I do from this, it is worth every penny to share that with you. I truly look forward to seeing what you produce with your new gear.

This is larger than the largest flat rate box and shipping for this size increases astronomically to ~180 and varies also by weight.

Mine is a smaller and older version of this bag, same layout and design, just not as big. I think I can fold it up and get it to fit into a much smaller space. When I get home on sunday I am going to see about making sure he gets this bag.

I had no idea this was going on, I've never even looked in here until I saw another link to it. If there is any shortfall in costs in shipping or whatever and paypal is an option, please let me know. Raj is one heck of a nice guy and his shots are really up there as well. Can't think of a better person to be honest.

I am also throwing in a brand new box of cleaning wipes. they work really well on pretty much anything with a screen or lens.


Also Also....BillM Chipped in some money to help cover shipping and insurance.

I believe that this is everything we were waiting on to be shipped to Raj. i will get it boxed up and shipped on my next day off!

Aaaaaaaand its off!

everything got boxed up and shipped out this morning USPS priority mail flat-rate shipping (per Lews recommendation)
the monetary donations towards this venture covered not only the international shipping cost, but it also covered enough insurance to replace everything.
I dug up some body caps and lens caps so the camera now has a body cap on it, and both lenses have front and rear lens caps (Sharons did already)
I also threw in a video cable, in case you want to hook the camera up to a TV or something.

well, there it is.
you should have your package in 6-10 business days Raj. no tracking number though, they said they don't track international packages.
please let us know when you get it, and post some pictures of you with the camera!

wow just got through this thread and couldn't be more impressed, happy, joyed, and excited all at the same time.


Very cool to see everyone pull together and do something amazing for an individual. Lots of props to everyone involved, on the forums and of course Mr and Mrs Pix. We need more people like you! all of you!

I would like to take a moment here and thank everyone that made this donation possible.
robins.photo, sm4him, DarkShadow, The_Traveler, and BillM all chipped in financially making it not only possible to ship this internationally with insurance, but per Lew's recommendation, shipped Priority Mail instead of regular post, shaving a week off the shipping time!

Special thanks to Sharon (sm4him) for her telephoto lens addition, and Lew (The_Traveler) for his PEC pads and getting some of his friends to donate a few CF cards so Raj will have plenty of memory when he goes shooting!
