^^ Exactly! Heebeejeebees..

It's a very good photo. The pale towel nicely shows off the spider's colour and detail. I almost wish you hadn't mentioned the towel; I wouldn't have been able to identify it and some mystery would have been intriguing. Ha!

This reminds me of something that's been carefully hidden in my subconsciousness haha... I was having dinner with 2 friends in a restaurant fashioned inside an old train car, when suddenly they both (sittin' in front of me) start staring at my right shoulder as if they're seeing a ghost or death itself. So without moving I ask them WTF is goin' on!?!?!?... And they tell me not to move 'cause I had a huge spider on my shoulder. I tried to peek through the side of my eye and I see something dark, big and really near my face... Anyway, I did my best not to move and waited for what should have been 5 seconds but seemed like an hour to me, and then one of them takes it off my shoulder with a magazine and kills it in the floor... It was really big even after dead (we calculated it was about the size of a hand when alive) and I still can't understand how the motherf***** got up there without me feeling absolutely nothing... But anyway, I tried to remain calm after that and wait for dinner, but it was too late. Had to leave that freaking place ASAP and go eat somewhere else :D

Anyway, sorry to bore you with this story, but I just remembered about this and was fun, 'cause I really don't remember ever thinking about it again except for a couple of days after the event.

:)

Not boring at all :)..... This spider was only about as big as your thumb nail.

Nice; spiders are just SO cool when you can get up close to them with a camera! I daresay we have probably ALL dried ourselves, blessedly oblivious to some tiny critter on our towel.

I have two spider stories:
Story 1: I used to work at a children's science center. They had all SORTS of critters--Madagascar hissing cockroaches (uGH, I hated those things!!), lizards, snakes, fish, a live honeybee colony, firebelly toads, a tarantula and more. On my very first day, I was out in the exhibit area "monitoring" a group of kids visiting from a local school. Our classroom educator came up to me and said, very quietly, "um, the tarantula isn't in its cage." I said, "Bye, it's been nice working here." :D Seriously, I really just thought it was a "let's prank the new employee" thing. But turned out it was for real, and she wanted ME to climb up on a chair and look and see if it was behind the aquarium, between the glass and the wall of the custom built wooden aquarium stand. I was the only one tall enough to be able to see over the aquarium by getting up on the chair. I looked, it was there, but I said, "If you think I'm going to GET the thing, you have another think coming!" Turns out, the tarantula had a habit of this. It would climb up the glass wall, and nudge the screen just a teeny bit before it fell back down; then it would do that, over and over and over, until it had nudged the screen off far enough to get out. Amazing!

Story 2: My son came in to my room in the middle of the night, totally freaked out. He said his ear was "tingling" and he couldn't get it to stop. He was usually a very laid-back kid but I could tell this was really getting to him and so, thinking maybe he'd burst an ear drum or something, I took him to the ER. The doctor looked in his ear, asked him a few questions then told him that it was probably a spider that had crawled into his ear while he was asleep, and it had since crawled out. She said, "that happens sometimes"...as if this was a perfectly normal, reasonable thing to expect to have happen, spiders crawling around inside your ears at night!! My son and I both just looked at each other with our mouths agape and a look of horror on our faces. We both agreed that regardless of the doctor's nonchalance about the whole thing, that it is decidedly NOT COOL to have a "bug in your ear." I think it was at least a year later before he finally stopped sleeping with cotton balls in his ears, no joke.
