Spike defends his turf

This is Spike doing his "This is MY piece of concrete" display.
One day we watch a slow-motion struggle for dominance. Spike jumped into the canal and swam to the other side. After climbing out of the canal he proceeded to climb on top of a large bougainvillea. Well there was another large iguana there and Spike took great exception to that. Spike, very slowly, chased the intruder across the whole length of two yards. And I mean slowly...it probably took 45 minutes.

He became our favorite. While not quite friendly, he was very tolerant of our presence and was just fun to watch.
