Squirrel on the beach...first photo...C&C please!

Scrawny little thing - too much of it is out of focus - it appears that only his head and right shoulder are in focus. I prefer to see the whole animal in focus, but that's just me.

In response to WesternGuy I'd say at least the important part, the eyes, are in focus. Technically the shot is great, but the composition could be improved - it doesn't really show the squirrel in the best position.

He really is a young one though, isn't he?!

If this is actually your first photo like the title indicates, I think you did a very good job!!

Although it is true that the focus rewards the animal's eyes more than the complete body, it is remarkable that you could get a WHOLE small squirrel...
I never succeeded: they're too fast! Good for you!
I can see you used a Sony DSLR-A200
.
but Elements does not show the EXIF data about aperture, time...
Do you have them? thanks!

I like the composition. Like others have said, it would have just been that much better if you could of had the whole skinny guy in focus.

Thank you! He was running around quite a bit.
