The black fabric wasn't the best idea, but pleased with the look and feel of these. Fun as always. :)

Very fun and a handsome subject.
#5 is cool
I wonder what a white background would do?

Samboozi: It isn't white, but here's a couple from 3 weekends ago shot on a very light beige type background:

Oh I love these! You have great clarity, and a good grasp on composition. I do wish his ear wasn't chopped in #3, and you might also want to bump up the brightness on your monitor, so you can see areas in the first shot where your black background could use some burning. In 4 and 5, you did an awesome job of using the light so that the viewer can clearly make out a "floor" area in the all black...preventing the infamous "floating subject" effect that so many portraits end up with when the floor and background are all black. Great job =) (AND CUTE!!!!)

Man, those dogs are ugly!

Just kidding Chammer. Haven't seen you in a while. How are you?

And what's wrong with the black background?

#1 would be fun with some captions added...it looks like they are both watching some newbie flopping...a loldogz kind overlay would be awesome. Wonderful-looking dogs. Good to see you back here Chammer!

I think the dog is going to win. He seems very determined and has a very serious stare.

c.cloudwalker: Thanks! I'm good, hit another bump in the road with life so I hadn't really shot anything since March until these guys came along. Trying to get back into the swing of things. :) The black background worked, however, it didn't stay black for long. Ended up with tons of white hair on it, and while most got Photoshopped out, more than I want is still present. :P

Derrel: Thanks! :)

gsgary: I agree. Lighting was a 24x24 softbox from camera right, and a 2nd light at 9 o'clock with a 32" shoot through umbrella set at (obviously) too low a power. Wanted low key, but I think it was a bit too low. Still no real strobes yet so grids are out just yet. Still making due with my strobist stuffs. That photo of yours is perfect though, and what I was after. :)

Too dang cute!!!! I just want to squeeze those cheeks!!!
