Just did an engagement shoot with a lot of architecture in the background. I'm noticing a fairly decent amount of distortion (where the vertical lines on the sides seem to be bending in towards the center) and i've never really noticed it before. Is it possibly a problem with the lens? I'm using a 5dmkII. It's really more noticeable on the wider angle shots - from around 24-40/50.
I do have some prime lenses, but since i only have 1 body, changing them out may lead to a missed shot so I prefer to use the zoom.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to minimize this? Should I send it back to canon? Will it help? Thanks

It's the lens, for sure. Do a google search for 24-105 L distortion. This lens has fairly significant barrel distortion at the wide end. This is another reason why many photographers opt for the 24-70 instead. It still has sone distortion, but it's far less pronounced.

In Lightroom, DxO or any other competent RAW processor just enable automated distortion correction.

If you don't have a profile you can make one using the Adobe Lens Profile creator.

It's not a problem with the lens, it's an inherent feature of the lens. You may also want to not that pointing the camera at an upward angle adds keystoning distortion to any barrel distortion the lens already has.
