that's really cool, almost like a vortex. Always wanted to try this but around these parts we barely get stars
 
really nice, had the camera pointed perfect as well.

question: did you try a lower ISO, wondering if 800 is really necessary?
 
Why go lower? Wider aperture + higher iso = more stars
Sure there is move noise but it can be removed in post.

Trying at 1600 next time... see what happens.

Good point on more stars. Tell you guys what, next time i get the chance, i'll try shooting at ISO 400, then try at 1600 and post the results. Hopefully my battery will endure the test. Thanks for the input.
