Still new but learning... little help?

So I went to play at a funday horse show, very casual show but great place to jsut get familiar with camera, I will have a couple pics to share that Im curious if I nailed it or not or what for improvment on them , but alot of my action shots besides these were blurry, do I need to stick to the "sports" mode? I tried to use M and tweek it myself that way, but everything was clear except for the moving aniamls, and they were just mildly blurry.

The first shot is OK as you caught the horse's attention ... it would have been better if you caught the guy looking at the horse looking at you.

Try not to shoot horsebutt ... unless there is a particular reason.

Use the S mode ... I am assuming your camera has it.
This is Shutter priority. You can use your dial to increase the shutter speed to reduce motion blur.

Also you can try panning ... moving your camera with the subject.
