Stinky pond in a Flordian cookie cutter apartment complex

And who knew it can be pretty pleasing looking! Thanks to RAW and photoshop.

Here's a stinky pond at my apartment complex. It stinks because the water level is always on the low side, and there's thrash (shopping cart and bottles) in the pond. I have no idea who brought the shopping carts in, but there are two of them.

Nevertheless, there's this tree that always has bright orangy-red blossoms. There are also ducks, coots and other water birds around, so since it's spring and there's lots of chicks around, I went around the pond hoping to get some nice shots.

Muscovy ducklings. The adults are rather ugly but the kids are cute.

Lastly, some Coot chicks trying to catch up to their mom. The the sharpest shot, but it was the best I could do just before the sun went down.

Oh, and I found a toad chilling in my bike gear bag.... these guys are FAT!
