Strange Flower

I found a strange looking flower when I was in my local flower shop.
I saw it and knew that I needed to snap a picture of it.
Really, the only colour that stands out if the purple of the flower. I made the background green as an attempt to add that outdoor feeling to the picture.

This picture was entered into a photo contest and won 3rd place.
Any feedback, comments, or suggestions are welcome!

I was hoping that one of you guys could tell me.
The flower was on a cart and had not tag with it.

Congrats on winning with the Orchid shot! I don't know about the green giving it the outdoor feel but it's interesting for sure.
It helps with things like flowers, birds ect.. to get an identification and name the photo appropriately. You and those who view the photo will learn something they possibly didn't know.
