Not sure of the composition. The entire bottom 25% can be tossed - and probably some on the top and right as well.
I assume the silhouetted figures are the subject of the image, yes? All that bright stuff at the bottom is a distraction and adds nothing.
Your conversion is nice. I like the silhouettes. Just not sure why you went square here.

Agree with the crop suggestions. I like the composition because the eye is led past the subjects into the square, then back to the subjects. Makes the image dynamic, IMHO.
