Number 1 doesn't elicit any emotions in me, but number 2 is beautiful. Maybe a little more vibrancy in the blues?

different framing or crop (long?) may add interest in #1
In #2 the black blue sky doesnt do anything for me and the blown out sun exceeded the dynamic range of your sensor. Its a good location and I like the comp otherwise. Id return to this location on a day with more clouds and fill that sky with color. It would be spectacular!
