Hey when I take a few test shots on my first dslr could you critique them as I am clueless at present just have an eye..(i think) haha
I start a beginner course jan so that should help a lil... Thanks for critique as I am taking everything in although this shot isn't mine looks fine to the untrained eye, its great reading these c and c's

I would add that the problem with the composition is that there is too much dead space in the sky (blue with no detail). The limited colour of the sky also limits the visual impact.

As others have indicated, you need to straighten the horizon. I would also crop the image so that the sky is only in the top third or one-quarter of the image. This gives you a flat horizon and more emphasis on the beach as we cannot really tell that it is a sunrise image. My 0.02¢ FWIW.

The sun was the focus in your second photo, but the rest aren't that interesting. Keep trying.

I agree with everyone that horizon is not leveled and also there is one more thing that you have included too much of sky in photos! I may be wrong but I think the sky would look much better if there were clouds on it!
