Sunrise

Hi everyone, Went out last weekend and got some cool shots of a sunrise. As i am still new to photograghy id love any feedback good or bad!

sweet sky! i like #2... not because i dont like landcapes done portrait syle.. i infact love them.. but the first doesnt do for me compositionally
the second however is very awesome a bit of contrast could really make it pop

Some nice work you are showing us here.
I think it could be even more effective if you gave the colours and contrast a tiny boost.

I concur...contrast is key! Also, a tip on the first shot, if I may. When shooting sky, rarely is it beneficial to do a portrait shot...especially when it's a sunset/sunrise. The focus of those photos are generally on the horizon, which means that it would span across the entire width of the picture, thereby making it more appealing to have it done landscape style. Great shot on #2 though, I love it!

I think it depends on the sky if portrait or landscape works best. The problem for the first pic is that there's too much of the grey stuff at the top and the clouds are very horizontal rather than wisping upwards.

The second one looks lovely.
