Really nice shot. Personally, I would have kept the foreground just a touch darker (less shadow recovery) in order to put more emphasis on, and bring focus to, the great colours in the sunset.

I think its great as is. I love the starfish in the foreground, it ties the colors together with the sunset. Beautiful.

EDIT: I tried to post-edit your photo by bringing down the shadows on the foreground exept for the star, which I made even more red. Tell me what you think.

Thanks. I'm torn with this one. Bringing out a lot of the shadows looks a bit unnatural and "washed out" to me, but I want to emphasize the tidepool and sealife in the foreground not just the starfish and sunset.

This is from white point - royal palms beach in San Pedro, CA during low tide.
