Photos NOT OK to edit
Hello.

I need advice as to how to take photo of specimens immersed in a round perspex container.

If the container is not filled with fluid, the size of the object shows no distortion (stretched or squashed). However, when filled with fluid, the left and right are stretched while the centre is kind of squashed.

What can I do about it? Is there an image software that corrects this kind of image distortion?

Thanks in advance.

Why do you have to photograph the specimens in water?

Hmm, I think Adobe Photoshop CS(something) has Remove Distortion Tool (even though the distortion is not caused by the lens).

The liquid is basically turning the jar into a lens. There is nothing you can do about it.

You might be able to 'fix' it with the skew tool, or similar - but I don't think it would look realistic.

What about a composite image? (I don't think that will look realistic either.)

One of just the object, one of just the jar - then combine them?

Without the distortion from the liquid filled jar, it will always look fake.
