I couldn't find a better way to phrase what was going on so I will use this quote from an Ottawa Citizen article:
"For the second day in a row, Ottawas rush hour was disrupted by hundreds of Tamil protesters waving banners and flags on downtown streets, calling for the federal government to push for an immediate ceasefire in the Sri Lankan civil war."
It was pretty intense, though peaceful. It seems that the protesters have the intent of staying, and demonstrating through the night, while continuing to block Wellington Street in front of Parliament Hill.
